How to choose the right size

Children’s feet grow very quickly during the toddler years — they can go up 2 or even 3 sizes in just one year. Liliputi shoes cover a wider size range than regular shoes, so they can be worn for a longer time. With Liliputi shoes, it’s perfectly fine if they’re a little bit big at the time of purchase. Our soft-soled boots are available in sizes from S to XXL, which typically fit from around 6 months up to 3–4 years of age. Before purchasing, make sure to measure your child’s foot at home to ensure you choose the right size. For soft-soled boots, measure your child’s foot while wearing thick socks, and add 1–2 mm to the result to account for the warm wool lining.

Follow the method shown in this video:

• Have your child stand on a blank sheet of paper and trace both feet.
• Measure the distance between the two furthest points on each foot drawing.
• If your child’s feet are different sizes, base your choice on the larger one.
• Choose a size from the chart that is slightly longer – ideally 5 but no more than 10 mm longer – than the measured length. 
  If the child’s foot is exactly the same size as the shoe, the soft leather will be under constant internal friction, which can lead to faster wear and even holes at the toe.
